what could quite possibly my all time favorite allen movie..and one of my all time favorites of all time
Loved this as a kid (I saw it when I was 8 or 9, a couple of times). Still crack up at all of these scenes. Especially the Airplane!-like bank robbery, where two gangs show up, “no, I’m sorry, we’re holding up the bank,” and then poll the bank customers to see which should have the honor.
have to agree with you there but there are a few exceptions…..sleeper,manhattan murder and small time crooks were great
this is my favorite woody allen movie. after this he just made boring movies like hannah and her sisters and crimes and misdemanors. they weren’t funny like this.

A re-imagining (vs. a remake) where the old Woody’s is a Bernie Madoff like character (wait, that’s been done – it is the Alan Greenspan story!). They reveal that he was a fraud and stole all his material and ideas and cheated everybody.
