@YaN8XiaojiE Thanks, it’s good to learn something new!

  8. NeonROX says:

Oh Mr.Boyle, how we love your humour. How much better would the world be if all our conversations ended this way? :’)

  9. YaN8XiaojiE says:

@edwardianeccentric well what im saying is if you look on paper, no they are the same, however in AK people consider Eskimo to be referring to a seperate people in Canada.

  10. edwardianeccentric says:

@YaN8XiaojiE I thought it was- I wasn’t denying the outmoded and derogatory status of ‘Eskimo’, I was just questioning whether they were two seperate peoples, rather than the same people but with different names, Eskimo being European-applied and offensive.

    @edwardianeccentric

Eskimo is kinda an outdated term. Many of my native friends consider it derogatory but agree that it generally means the people who live in the northern regions of canada. Most Alaskans use the specific terms like Yupik, Athabascan, or Inuit. Inuits inside of alaska may punch u if u call em an eskimo.

Go to the Alaska Native Heritage Center site, its a good place to get facts.

  12. edwardianeccentric says:

@YaN8XiaojiE I thought they were the same but Inuit was their name for themselves and Eskimo is the name the Europeans gave them, which they thought a bit unpleasant as it meant ‘meateaters’ in their language?

  13. YaN8XiaojiE says:

Inuit and Eskimo are two different types of people, but I still love this joke…

  16. britesideofdeath says:

LOL I can’t stop watching this. Cracks me up. Frankie even goes ‘what the fuck was I doing for the past 30 seconds?’; makes it even funnier.

  17. britesideofdeath says:

@miacrow2 Actually it’s just british humour is different to other countries humour.

  18. keletama says:

The best part is that afterwards, even Frankie’s like “wtf was that?”

  19. iainjames03 says:

no it’s not a reference to anything in particular, it’s just a bit of surrealism. Frankie Boyle does have quite a random element to his humour which, personally, makes his abusive and vulgar side more tolerable

  20. ceara619rocks says:

yeh it was pretty random. At the start he was given initials “D.I.R.B” and they had to come up with the headline. It was just a silly joke.
Culture difference? I don’t feel that way about American comedy, but then again they pride themselves on reaching all audiences so American jokes are hardly complex.

  21. miacrow2 says:

its just that it was pretty random to start talking about an eskimo robot butler. as i am not british, i tend to assume that whenever something seems random/nonsensical to me that it is a cultural reference that i don’t get.

  22. ceara619rocks says:

Eskimos go Ice fishing, the robot is obsessed with Ice fishing because he is an Eskimo. It’s not a complex joke..

  23. NuWave12 says:

It’s just random. It’s so unfunny, that it is funny, if you get me?:)

  24. monkeybike says:

I feel an Internet meme coming on!
    ICE FISHING!

  25. edalbrellor says:
